Trade Coffee Trails: Southern California

Trade Coffee Trails: Southern California

We're heading West for warm weather and hot (or cod brew) coffee.
by Team Trade | February 25, 2020

After exploring the natural beauty of  Northern California, we’re heading out West again for our next Trade Coffee Trail. This time, we're off to the sunshine, surf, and stellar coffee of Southern California.

Starting at the storied shores of Santa Barbara, then onto the buzz of Los Angeles, and wrapping up with the laidback charm of San Diego, this trip is one you might be inspired to make more than once.

Travel Time: 5 hours (pit stops not included)

Santa Barbara, California

Our journey begins in what might be the most postcard-perfect city in America. The rugged beauty of the Central Coast gives way to sun-kissed Southern California.

Dune Coffee Roasters
528 Anacapa Street
Santa Barbara, California 93101

Dune's downtown Santa Barbara location is conveniently located close to the farmer's market which is held every Tuesday and Saturday in town. Grab your carrots and kale then stop by for an espresso or latte before heading back home. Or stop by beforehand and munch on a homemade pastry baked in-house.

Los Angeles, California

The City of Angels is unsurprisingly home to a heavenly coffee scene. With locations in just about every iconic LA neighborhood, hometown hero Groundwork Coffee is something you won't want to miss.

Santa Monica, California 90405

Measuring in at a mere eight feet wide by 35 feet long, this improbable space is home to one of Groundwork’s most interesting coffeehouses — short on size, but big on charm.

They packed every square-inch with organic coffee, teas, and homemade baked goods. Check out the art wall — you can’t help but get a close look.

Rancho Cucamonga, California

On the outskirts of Los Angeles is one of America's more curiously named cities. But don't be fooled: Rancho Cucamonga's own Klatch Coffee means business.

In 2018, Klatch Coffee reached the 25 year milestone. Their Rancho Cucamonga location is where that journey began.

Located on the Historic Route 66, Klatch now stands where the Route 66 museum once stood. Originally named Coffee Klatch, this roaster quickly became a community hotspot featuring local bands playing on the patio and Mexican Mochas (made with Ibarra Chocolate).

Augie's is a family – not only of customers, baristas, roasters, and growers, but quite literally. Co-owned by father-son duo Andy and Austin Amento since 2009, Augie's won’t claim to be the reason that Downtown Redlands is such a special place, but it is, and they're proud to call it home.
