    Roaster’s Notes
Born into a family of coffee growers in the village of El Placer in the El Tambo municipality, Argenis and Bertha Rosas sow, weed, fertilize, pick, wash, and dry their own coffees, putting immense passion and care into each lot. Argenis, who lives with her husband and two children, has 12,000 coffee trees on four plots of land and intends to plant 2,000 more trees for each of her children. Bertha, meanwhile, takes care of her 7,500 trees. We found these extraordinary sisters through our relationship with AMUCC, a Fair Trade certified association of women in Cauca, Colombia, empowering female coffee producers and bringing about positive social change. To further their mission, we pay an additional premium to support the organic program, and we created an interest-free revolving credit line to help the certified-organic farmers meet short-term cash flow needs. Our relationship with AMUCC began in 2016 and has since grown into a delicious single origin cold brew and, now, this passion project: Hermanas de AMUCC.
