Tala Bocanegra

Limited Edition Exclusive!

This super-fun coffee is a tribute to both tradition and progress. We tasted Sightseer’s Tala Bocanegra last year and found it a smooth, classic Colombian coffee. This year, the 4 fourth-generation women farmers who contribute to this lot delivered another delicious coffee, but one that tastes quite a bit different.

That’s because of the introduction of an in-cherry, low oxygen fermentation into the coffee processing. We taste a similar cocoa note to last year, but this time it’s paired with a deep, winey fruit note. It tastes like sipping some dessert wine with a high quality dark chocolate: a real fancy treat.

Medium roast

Understanding roast levels

Roast level affects both flavor and body. Here's what to expect from each.

Light

Best for: those that prize delicate flavors and a tea-like feel above intensity.

Light-Medium

Best for: those that enjoy juicy acidity and gently caramelized sugars.

Medium

Best for: those that enjoy balance and classic flavors like cocoa and nuts.

Medium-Dark

Best for: those looking for classic coffee flavors with a kiss of roast.

Dark

Best for: those that love intense, smoky flavor and a full body above all else.

Trade Tip

Roasters don’t always agree on roast level — one roaster’s dark might look the same as another’s medium. We taste and assign every coffee our own roast level, so your matches stay consistent no matter who roasted them.

Sightseer
ABOUT THE ROASTER

Sightseer

Austin, TX
Friends and roasters Kimberly and Sara noticed women were everywhere in coffee except at the top. They founded Sightseer in 2021 to change that, sourcing 100% from women producers. With every bag, they work toward a more equitable supply chain and a brighter future for the whole industry.
Fun Fact
There’s not really a rhyme or reason to the names of Sightseer’s coffees. It’s just that, it’ll make sense when you drink it.
