The Bronx, NY
Named for the Amharic word for "coffee-colored", Buunni is a New York City coffee company with deep Ethiopian roots. Founders Sarina Prabasi and Elias Gurmu fell in love over cups of Ethiopian macchiato in Addis Ababa —before moving to the USA and opening cafes together with a focus on extraordinary Ethiopian coffees, hospitality, and community.
Fun Fact
Elias and Sarina met and fell in love, drinking Ethiopian macchiatos in Addis Ababa. Coffee continues to be their love language.
