Understanding roast levels

Roast level affects both flavor and body. Here's what to expect from each.

Light

Best for: those that prize delicate flavors and a tea-like feel above intensity.

Light-Medium

Best for: those that enjoy juicy acidity and gently caramelized sugars.

Medium

Best for: those that enjoy balance and classic flavors like cocoa and nuts.

Medium-Dark

Best for: those looking for classic coffee flavors with a kiss of roast.

Dark

Best for: those that love intense, smoky flavor and a full body above all else.

Trade Tip

Roasters don’t always agree on roast level — one roaster’s dark might look the same as another’s medium. We taste and assign every coffee our own roast level, so your matches stay consistent no matter who roasted them.

Airship
ABOUT THE ROASTER

Airship

Bentonville, AR
Airship began in the mountains of Honduras, where founder Mark Bray saw farmers struggling for a stable, fair supply chain. What started as a commitment to producers has grown into a roastery rooted in community — bringing bright, thoughtfully-sourced coffees from farm to cup.
Fun Fact
Airship hosts Serotonin Sundays at its open-air café in the woods, featuring music and mimosas to say goodbye to the Sunday Scaries.

    Airship roaster Eithopia Kochere

Very very fresh coffee, they roast a day or two before

Shipping. Giving shipping is approx 1 week

To arrive NY. They have a stamped roast date. Having

Home roast myself, i do see how fresh it is when I do my manual pour over. Be careful of some roasters stamp

Current roast date but coffee is not fresh Coffee is flat and tasteless. Suggest to brew it at 198F and med grind for sweet tastes. You can haste a lot of berries from this beans. Good job!!
