Funky & Fruity

Red Rooster has sourced this modern Ethiopian coffee for years and it's delicious every year. We taste blueberry, fig, and a hint of cocoa.

Understanding roast levels

Roast level affects both flavor and body. Here's what to expect from each.

Light

Best for: those that prize delicate flavors and a tea-like feel above intensity.

Light-Medium

Best for: those that enjoy juicy acidity and gently caramelized sugars.

Medium

Best for: those that enjoy balance and classic flavors like cocoa and nuts.

Medium-Dark

Best for: those looking for classic coffee flavors with a kiss of roast.

Dark

Best for: those that love intense, smoky flavor and a full body above all else.

Trade Tip

Roasters don’t always agree on roast level — one roaster’s dark might look the same as another’s medium. We taste and assign every coffee our own roast level, so your matches stay consistent no matter who roasted them.

    Bright and crisp.

Definitely tastes like a high quality wine. I brewed it via french press and can't name a single quality i disliked about this.

Best Coffee In Its Tier On Trade

I’ve been on trade for a few years, tried many different bags and keep going back to this one. There are definitely some great coffees on trade but this one stands out every time. If you’re familiar with the Worka Sakaro you know it’s fruit/berry forward and Red Rooster does a great job with it.

    Amazing Flavor

This has been the best bag of coffee I have had in a while. Truly a light roast from nose to tongue!

    New favorite bean

I love this coffee, have been through several 2lb bags. Great jammy fruit notes, solid funky anaerobic vibes with some vanilla frosting like what’s on yogurt covered pretzels. All around awesome brewed on a Chemex or V60

Fruit forward and easy to drink

A really enjoyable Ethiopian anaerobic coffee with a nice balance of fruit and fermentation. It has plenty of character without becoming overly funky or artificial. Sweet, vibrant, and interesting in the cup, though I wouldn't consider it quite exceptional enough for five stars. Overall, a very solid and enjoyable coffee.
