Funky & Fruity

Red Rooster has sourced this modern Ethiopian coffee for years and it's delicious every year. We taste blueberry, winey acidity, and a hint of cocoa.

Understanding roast levels

Roast level affects both flavor and body. Here's what to expect from each.

Light

Best for: those that prize delicate flavors and a tea-like feel above intensity.

Light-Medium

Best for: those that enjoy juicy acidity and gently caramelized sugars.

Medium

Best for: those that enjoy balance and classic flavors like cocoa and nuts.

Medium-Dark

Best for: those looking for classic coffee flavors with a kiss of roast.

Dark

Best for: those that love intense, smoky flavor and a full body above all else.

Trade Tip

Roasters don’t always agree on roast level — one roaster’s dark might look the same as another’s medium. We taste and assign every coffee our own roast level, so your matches stay consistent no matter who roasted them.

    Complex, funky, enjoyable

The coffee at room temp after cooling down was almost like wine. It was complex, smooth, with each sip being enjoyable all the way through.

    Wonderful Natural Ethiopian

Still relatively new to pour over, but this is one of the better natural process Ethiopians I have tried. Vibrant, juicy coffee. Plays well with both Hario V60 and Chemex, brewed at 90-92C.

    Complex, Delicious Flavor

This one is a favorite in our household. Truly a funky and fruity coffee! There’s berries, chocolate, and more. It’s a rich and complex flavor. I do find that I don’t want it every single morning due to it being more intense than most other coffees, but am always happy when I get a new bag of it in the mail. Our fav from Red Rooster

    Fruity, smooth, aromatic

Lovely bag of beans with exceptional fruit notes. Brewed this via Chemex and pour over and tastes phenomenal with both.
