Comforting & Rich

A dark roast with notes of walnut and cocoa, this blend reminds us of drinking a creamy mocha (and will probably do pretty well with some milk).

Understanding roast levels

Roast level affects both flavor and body. Here's what to expect from each.

Light

Best for: those that prize delicate flavors and a tea-like feel above intensity.

Light-Medium

Best for: those that enjoy juicy acidity and gently caramelized sugars.

Medium

Best for: those that enjoy balance and classic flavors like cocoa and nuts.

Medium-Dark

Best for: those looking for classic coffee flavors with a kiss of roast.

Dark

Best for: those that love intense, smoky flavor and a full body above all else.

Trade Tip

Roasters don’t always agree on roast level — one roaster’s dark might look the same as another’s medium. We taste and assign every coffee our own roast level, so your matches stay consistent no matter who roasted them.

ReAnimator
ABOUT THE ROASTER

ReAnimator

Philadelphia, PA
Philadelphia's ReAnimator has been exploring coffee's complexity since 2011. Owned by Mark Capriotti and Mark Corpus, this roaster embraces seasonality like few others—single-origin offerings cycle through frequently, staying on the menu for only weeks before making way for something new.
Fun Fact
ReAnimator began in a row house basement in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood with a small two kilogram roaster.

    Refreshing

This coffee is smooth and refreshing. On the first day it was so good we had to make a second pot. It’s gonna go fast! What a delightful coffee.

Great selection of beans and roasts

I've lately focussed only on offerings from Trade. Great selection of beans and roasts. I haven't settled on a single preferred bean/roast, but I'm happy to explore the options here, which are vast here. This seems like a good place to do this exploration before I'm ready to zero-in on a favorite -- although, TBH I do appreciate the option to explore other roasts and varietals.

    Rich, balanced.

Agree entirely with the tasting notes that describe dark cocoa, toasted walnut, not so much the toffee, myself, but that’s ok. This is a full bodied blend with a very nice start, finish and end. I’ll order more of this one!
