How to Make An "Absolutely No Idea"

Absolutely No Idea Recipe
Ingredients:
Cold Brew
- 1 cup Trade coffee coarse grind
- 4 cups cold water
Chai Spice Mixture - 2 tsp cardamom powder
- 2 tsp allspice powder
- 2 tsp nutmeg powder
- 4 tsp cinnamon powder
- 2 tsp clove powder
- 6 tsp ginger powder
Cream Mixture - Pint or 500ml heavy whipping cream
- 2 TBSP Vanilla extract
- 2 TBSP chai spice mixture
- 3 TBSP white granulated sugar
- 3 TBSP dark brown sugar
Instructions:
Prepare cold brew - Steep overnight 12-18 hours
- Strain - fine mesh or nut bag or French press
- and pour into large silicone ice molds
- Freeze
- Reserve some unfrozen for cocktail
Prepare chai spice mixture - Combine all chai ingredients in a bowl
- Mix together and set aside
Prepare cream mixture - Combine all cream mixture ingredients in a bowl
- Mix together and whip to soft peaks
Building the cocktail - In a large rocks glass place one coffee rock
- 1 ½ ounce Giant Texas Rye Whiskey 100 proof ( or 1 ½ ounce Redemption Rye)
- 1 ounce unfrozen cold brew
- Cover rye and coffee with cream mixture to rim of glass
- Garnish with powdered cinnamon
Notes:
We recommend a richer coffee such as Alma Coffee's Ember Dark Roast to make the cold brew here, but any somewhat strong-tasting coffee that tends toward nutty, chocolatey, or toasty flavors will also work.
